Yourchelsea Remodeling does not have contractors on staff. When you send a request, we connect you with an independent provider from our network. That provider is a local business that does bathroom or kitchen remodeling in your area.
That is who you will talk to about your project. They are the ones who visit your home, write your estimate, and do the work.
What Happens on the First Conversation
It is usually relaxed. The provider will ask about your home and your goals. They may ask about:
- Which room you want to change.
- What bothers you about it now.
- The style or features you like.
- Your rough budget and timing.
Many providers then set up a home remodel consultation. They look at the space, take measurements, and talk through options. Then they prepare a written estimate.
What to Ask a Provider
Good questions make good decisions. Try these:
- Are you licensed and insured in my area? Can I see proof?
- Who will actually do the work, you or subcontractors?
- What is included in the estimate, and what could change it?
- How do you handle surprises, such as hidden water damage behind a wall?
- What is the payment schedule?
- How long will the project take, and what will daily life look like?
- Can you share photos of past projects like mine?
Write the answers down. They will help you compare.
You Are in Control
You do not have to decide on the spot. You can ask for a second or third estimate. You can take a week to think. Saying no is fine.
If something feels rushed or unclear, pause. A good provider will understand.
Compare Side by Side
When you have more than one estimate, line them up. Look at the scope, the materials, the timeline, and the warranty terms the provider offers. A small price tag is not always the right fit, and a high price is not always better. Look at the full picture.
